I debated sharing this on my socials but I figure I’ve always been so real about my health and journey, why stop now.
.
So I’ve had breast implants for 8 years. I originally got them NOT because I’d had some hangup about my boobs but because I liked the look of them and especially the ease in clothes. 🤷‍♀️ Eg. traveling around Europe for 2 months without wearing a bra once 😂
.
I got the idea in my head and in a month I had researched everything about them including watching videos of breast augmentation surgeries. And other than capsular contracture no other issues popped up in my searches. (Bii wasn’t around everywhere like it is now.) I booked a brilliant plastic surgeon, not just a cosmetic surgeon and had them done. I had an amazing recovery. Was walking around an hour later pain free, fine as a daisy and that was the last of the meds I took. 0 complications since then.

Fast forward to now, I still love the look of them and I have no regrets. I made my decision with the information I had at the time. But now I have read a lot into breast implant illness and have seen the effects on many. Their links to autoimmune issues makes me particularly nervous. I never knew... 😢 and I read and was told my silicone implants could never leak, break or leech which completely untrue.

I may or may not feel better after having them removed. And that’s ok. (I’m feeling pretty great at the moment anyway 😜) But my vanity will never trump my health and removing them will avoid any future issues that could arise. (One example is so many women have had silicone leech into breast milk when scans show the capsule as still intact 😱)

They also no longer align with my beliefs - I’m all about natural - minimising chemicals, medications, eating healthily and organically where possible, I’ve never had Botox or injectables, or needed any teeth fillings (luckily) and don’t plan to.

So boobs, we had fun 😂 But now, it’s time for you toxic bags to go! 🍈🍈 Bring on the #ittybittytittycommittee and we’ll make some new memories 😎👍
